Dynamic light installation raises questions about public space, belonging, and community, while addressing broader themes of pacifism and transnational identity. As a site-specific project, it resonates deeply with the role and significance of Metelkova – the oldest autonomous cultural centre in the Ex-Yu region. In an era of neoliberal capitalism that privileges capital over people and accelerates gentrification, autonomous zones like this remain rare and vital oases of freedom and community.
Through its pulsating light, the installation captures the shifting nature of home — a concept in constant motion, adaptation, and redefinition. HOME breathes, flashes, and turns red, emphasising the vital role of public space and community in shaping our sense of belonging. Positioned in a historically and culturally loaded site, the work stands as a symbol of openness and creativity, affirming that art not only reflects reality but also actively participates in shaping it.
